What is the Egress Trainer?
The idea underlying the Egress Training System is that improper vehicle entry or exit can put enormous stress on the body that many aren’t aware of until the repeated stress leads to an acute injury. Whether set up to use our Stationary Egress Trainer or as a mobile system where training is done on an actual vehicle, the Egress Training System measures the impact forces at play when someone steps out of a work vehicle, and then calculates the wear and tear that same exit technique can cause to the body over time. This sets the scene for our trainers to demonstrate and train proper technique that reduces impact forces and virtually eliminates unnecessary wear and tear on the body.
Origin And HISTORY
Around 2008, United Parcel Service (UPS) approached researchers at Virginia Tech for help with reducing their large number of slip, trip and fall accidents and chronic injuries. The result was the first generation of the Slip Simulator™ and Egress Trainer. Today, Inbiodyn Egress Training Systems have been deployed to train more than 10,000 drivers and personnel across a wide range of industries how to enter and exit work vehicles in a way that reduces both the risk of slips, trips and falls, and unnecessary wear and tear on the body that can lead to chronic injury over time.
