Jon Hager
Co-founder & CEO
Jon Hager is Co-founder and President of Inbiodyn (Industrial Biodynamics) in Salem, Virginia. He leads the development of innovative, hands-on safety training solutions designed to reduce workplace injuries through our proven Learn By Doing approach. Inbiodyn’s modular, interactive training systems address key risk areas including slips, trips and falls, vehicle egress, and proper lifting techniques—helping organizations build safer habits and improve human performance.
With more than 30 years of experience as a product designer and manufacturing engineer, Jon has developed technologies ranging from sensors and communication systems to military hardware and safety equipment for both small- and large-scale production. He holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech and remains actively involved in his local community through youth sports, schools, and Scouting.
Christian James
Co-founder & CTO
Christian is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Inbiodyn, where he focuses on advancing kinesthetic learning solutions that significantly reduce workplace injuries. He played a key role in transitioning the Slip Simulator and Egress Training System from their origins at Virginia Tech into commercially successful training programs now used by numerous Fortune 500 companies.
A certified Slip Simulator instructor, Christian also consults with organizations to design and implement effective, hands-on safety training programs. Prior to co-founding Inbiodyn, he contributed to a wide range of engineering projects across government and industry, including auditory research, shipboard component design, diesel engine testing, and advanced weapons research and development. Outside of work, he enjoys cycling, running, and gardening in southwest Virginia.
Bill Thorne
Business Development Director
Bill Thorne has built his career on developing strong relationships and helping organizations expand their reach. Over the past decade as Business Development Director at Inbiodyn, he has played a key role in driving growth, entering new markets, and establishing strategic partnerships. His ability to connect with clients and understand their needs has been central to the company’s continued success.
Outside of work, Bill enjoys all sports and spending time with his family. When you contact Inbiodyn, there’s a good chance Bill will be your first point of contact—ready to answer questions and help you find the right training solutions.
Jim Kleinsteuber
Trainer
Jim leads Inbiodyn’s on-site training programs, traveling nationwide to deliver hands-on instruction using the Slip Simulator Mobile Units. He is responsible for both conducting employee training sessions and certifying client teams to independently operate and train with the Slip Simulator following purchase. To date, Jim has personally trained more than 10,000 individuals. He also delivers on-site Egress Training, helping organizations reduce injuries associated with improper vehicle exits.
Jim brings extensive safety experience from his time at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where he served as an Environmental Safety and Health Specialist and managed the Behavior-Based Safety program. Beginning his career there as a sheet metal worker, he transitioned into safety leadership over a remarkable 21-year tenure—far beyond his originally planned two-month assignment.
Chris Marlman
Trainer
Chris is Inbiodyn’s newest Slip Simulator trainer, bringing over a year of dedicated service to the team. A 24-year veteran of the United States Air Force, Chris leverages his extensive training background, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills to deliver exceptional Slip Simulator training experiences for clients.
In addition to his training role, Chris also serves as Inbiodyn’s safety coordinator, where he plays a key role in maintaining a safe and effective working environment for all staff. Originally from Borden, Indiana, Chris now resides in Salem, Virginia.
